Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it.
- Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter and mix it with 1 cup of light brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
- Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until creamy.
- Fold in 1 cup of all-purpose flour and ¼ teaspoon of salt until just combined.
- Gently stir in ½ cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of cherries until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
