Preparation Steps
- Start by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts flat in the bottom of your CrockPot. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chicken.
- Add the minced garlic, marinara sauce, and chicken broth directly over the seasoned chicken. Stir gently just to combine everything.
- Cover your CrockPot and set it to low heat. Allow the mixture to cook for 4–5 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Carefully remove the cover and check for doneness. Using two forks, shred the chicken right in the CrockPot.
- Add the cheese tortellini and chopped spinach on top of the shredded chicken without stirring yet. Cover again.
- After 10 minutes, take the lid off and gently stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
- Set your CrockPot to high and cover it, allowing everything to cook for an additional 30–45 minutes until the tortellini is tender.
- Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped basil.
