Equipment

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts flat in the bottom of your CrockPot. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chicken.
  2. Add the minced garlic, marinara sauce, and chicken broth directly over the seasoned chicken. Stir gently just to combine everything.
  3. Cover your CrockPot and set it to low heat. Allow the mixture to cook for 4–5 hours until the chicken is tender.
  4. Carefully remove the cover and check for doneness. Using two forks, shred the chicken right in the CrockPot.
  5. Add the cheese tortellini and chopped spinach on top of the shredded chicken without stirring yet. Cover again.
  6. After 10 minutes, take the lid off and gently stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Set your CrockPot to high and cover it, allowing everything to cook for an additional 30–45 minutes until the tortellini is tender.
  8. Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped basil.
