Ingredients
  

For the Wontons
  • 1 pack Wonton Wrappers Can substitute with dumpling wrappers
  • 1 pound Ground Pork or Shrimp Can substitute with ground chicken or tofu
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced, fresh is best
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Grated or minced, fresh preferred
For the Broth
  • 6 cups Broth (Chicken or Vegetable) Homemade preferred for richer flavor
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Use gluten-free if necessary
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Chopped, for added flavor
  • to taste Salt & Pepper Adjust according to preference

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork or shrimp with minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper, place a small spoonful of the filling in the center, moisten the edges with water, fold over, and seal tightly.
  3. In a pot, bring the broth to a gentle simmer and add extra minced garlic, ginger slices, and green onions. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Carefully add the wontons into the broth and cook for 4-6 minutes until they float.
  5. Serve the wontons and broth in warm bowls, garnished with sliced green onions and soy sauce.
