  • ¼ cup Kirsch use cherry juice for non-alcoholic version
For the Garnish
  • ½ cup Chocolate shavings use dark chocolate

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the chocolate cake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack and cooling completely.
  2. In a trifle dish, layer half of the chocolate cake cubes, sprinkle with Kirsch or cherry juice, add a layer of whipped cream, and top with cherries.
  3. Repeat the layers with remaining chocolate cake cubes, additional Kirsch, whipped cream, and cherries until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  4. Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or ideally overnight to meld flavors.
  5. Before serving, garnish with dark chocolate shavings and extra cherries.
