Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Simple Syrup
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sliced ripe strawberries, 1 cup of filtered cold water, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir over low heat until sugar is fully dissolved, about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Increase heat to medium and bring to a low boil. Allow it to boil for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat back to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently and mashing the strawberries to release juice.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing the strawberries to extract every drop.
  6. Pour the strained syrup into a clean glass jar with a lid. Cool completely before sealing.
