Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Simple Syrup
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sliced ripe strawberries, 1 cup of filtered cold water, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir over low heat until sugar is fully dissolved, about 3–5 minutes.
- Increase heat to medium and bring to a low boil. Allow it to boil for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat back to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently and mashing the strawberries to release juice.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5–10 minutes.
- Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing the strawberries to extract every drop.
- Pour the strained syrup into a clean glass jar with a lid. Cool completely before sealing.
