Preparation
- Heat the water to about 115°F, then combine it with active dry yeast and sugar in a mixing bowl, letting it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In the meantime, mix the flour and salt in a stand mixer bowl. Slowly pour in the yeast mixture while mixing on low speed until the dough starts to form.
- Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, then transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 450°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Microwave this mixture for about 20 seconds until fragrant.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release air and roll it out on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the entire surface with the garlic oil mixture.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of Parmesan cheese over the crust, followed by an ample amount of shredded mozzarella.
- Finish with a touch of ground black pepper and some fresh or dried parsley.
- Place the pizza in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- After baking, remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
