  • 8 ounces Cremini Mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce as substitute
  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh, minced
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth or vegetable broth for vegetarian
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Greek yogurt for lighter version

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the chicken by cutting the chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge in flour.
  2. Heat the skillet and add olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter, then add cremini mushrooms and chopped onion. Sauté for 6-8 minutes until mushrooms are browned and onions are soft.
  4. Stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic into the sautéed mixture. Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits. Return the browned chicken to the pan and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream until smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Serve the creamy chicken stroganoff over egg noodles, rice, or alongside crusty bread.
