  • 1 cup Diced Onion can substitute with shallots or omit

  • 1 cup Sour Cream (Optional) Greek yogurt is a healthier substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder adjust amount when using fresh garlic
  • 0.5 cup Milk or Broth (Optional) used to adjust consistency

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Tater Tot Casserole
  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add the ground beef for about 6–8 minutes until fully browned. Add the diced onion and sauté for another 3–4 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Mix the Filling: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, frozen mixed vegetables, and sour cream. Mix until combined, adding milk or broth for consistency. Cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: Spread the beef and vegetable mixture in a greased 9x13 baking dish, sprinkle cheese on top, and layer frozen tater tots evenly.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30–35 minutes until tater tots are golden brown.
