Ingredients

For the Base Layer
  • 1 can Frito Lay Bean Dip Provides a creamy texture; substitute with homemade bean dip for a fresher taste.
  • 1 cup Prepared Guacamole Adds a rich, buttery element; store-bought or homemade works well for convenience.
For the Spider Web
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Essential for that spooky design; Greek yogurt can be a lighter alternative.
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Infuses flavor into the sour cream; try homemade taco seasoning for personalized spice levels.
For Decoration
  • 1 cup Black Olives Perfect for creating a creepy spider; pitted black olives simplify the preparation.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Adds savory richness; any melty cheese will work for a delicious twist.
  • 1 large Tomato Brings freshness and vibrant color; cherry tomatoes are easier to dice and add a pop!
  • 1 cup Kale Crunchy and healthy; feel free to swap with shredded lettuce if you prefer a milder flavor.

Equipment

  • Spatula
  • Mixing Bowl
  • ziplock bag

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by selecting an 8-inch serving plate. Use a spatula to evenly spread the Frito Lay bean dip across the entire surface, ensuring a smooth and creamy base layer.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine one cup of sour cream with your taco seasoning, stirring until smooth and well-blended. Spread the sour cream mixture in a 2-inch ring around the outer edge of the plate.
  3. Spoon the prepared guacamole directly into the center of the sour cream ring and spread it gently and evenly.
  4. To create the spider web look, place a half cup of sour cream into a ziplock bag, snip off a small corner, and pipe a web design on top of the guacamole.
  5. Sprinkle shredded kale evenly over the guacamole and sour cream, followed by shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and sliced black olives.
  6. Place a whole black olive in the center of your spider web and slice additional olives into strips to create spider legs extending from the center.
