  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat for about 2-3 minutes until fully melted and bubbly.
  2. Add marshmallows (and optional marshmallow creme) and stir continuously for 4-5 minutes until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat and swiftly stir in the dry cake mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal with the marshmallow and cake mix mixture, gently folding until coated.
  5. Fold in rainbow sprinkles before transferring to the baking dish.
  6. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish, pour in the mixture, and press down firmly, sprinkling reserved sprinkles on top.
  7. Allow to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
