Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water over medium heat. Stir frequently until the sugar completely dissolves, approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  2. Take your cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice cubes.
  3. Pour your chilled gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and the cooled simple syrup into the shaker filled with ice.
  4. With the shaker securely closed, shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  5. Remove the lid from the shaker and prepare a glass filled with fresh ice. Using a fine strainer, pour the shaker’s contents into the glass.
  6. Gently pour tonic water over the mixture in your glass, filling it to your desired level.
