Ingredients

For the Garlic Butter Spread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened Provides richness and helps achieve that perfect golden crust; substitute with olive oil for a lighter version.
  • 0.5 tablespoon garlic powder Adds a robust garlic flavor; fresh minced garlic can be used for a fresher taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried parsley Enhances flavor with herbal notes; can be substituted with fresh parsley or omitted.
For the Sandwich
  • 4 slices bread Any bread can work, but a thick-sliced variety is preferred for better texture.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend Offers a gooey melt and rich flavor; swap with Swiss, Provolone, or Gouda for variety.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese
  1. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of softened butter, ½ tablespoon of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of dried parsley. Use a fork to mix until well blended and smooth.
  2. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each of the 4 slices of bread.
  3. Place two slices of bread butter-side down onto a skillet over medium heat. Evenly distribute about ½ cup of the cheese blend on top.
  4. Top the cheese-covered slices with the remaining two slices of bread, butter-side up. Gently press down.
  5. Heat the skillet over low heat and let the sandwiches cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Carefully flip the sandwiches to cook the other side, adjusting the heat to low. Cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  7. Once both sides are golden and the cheese is gooey, remove from the skillet and allow to cool before slicing.
