Method
 

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, fresh ginger, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Cod: Place cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while the cod is marinating.
  4. Sear the Cod: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove cod from marinade, pat dry, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Bake the Cod: Transfer seared cod to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until flaky and opaque.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: Pour reserved marinade into a saucepan, simmer, then mix cornstarch and water to create slurry, stirring into the marinade to thicken.
  7. Add the Finishing Touches: Spoon the thickened glaze over cooked cod and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
