Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat until bubbling.
  3. Add diced yellow onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Stir in shredded green cabbage and season with a sprinkle of sea salt. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Reduce heat and incorporate frozen hash browns and 1½ cups of shredded Irish cheddar cheese.
  7. Smooth the top with a spatula and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven, baking for 30-35 minutes.
  8. After the baking period, sprinkle remaining cheese on top and return to oven for another 4-5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped green onions before serving warm.
