  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure extract recommended
  • 2 tablespoon Warm Water
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Fleur de Sel or Sea Salt for sprinkling

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and arrange three racks.
  2. Cream the unsalted butter until smooth, then add sugars and mix until fluffy.
  3. Add egg, vanilla, and warm water to the mixture and mix until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and kosher salt; add to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chopped bittersweet chocolate.
  6. Scoop 12 portions of dough onto a baking sheet; freeze for 15 minutes.
  7. Bake for 10 to 20 minutes, watching for golden edges and soft centers.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt while warm and allow to cool on a wire rack.
