Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed for 3-5 minutes.
- Add the large eggs one at a time, mixing well, then pour in the vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Combine cocoa powder with a splash of milk to create a smooth chocolate paste.
- Pour half of the vanilla batter into the greased pan, dollop the chocolate mixture, then add the remaining vanilla batter. Swirl gently.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
