Preparation Steps
- Bring the New York Strip steak to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
- Season both sides of the steak with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2β3 minutes on each side.
- Add butter during the last flip for added richness. Transfer to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt.
- Cook for 10β15 minutes until onions are caramelized. Drizzle in balsamic glaze towards the end.
- Cut the ciabatta loaf in half and toast until golden and crispy.
- Spread lemon herb aioli on each half of the bread.
- Layer fresh arugula, thinly sliced steak, and sweet caramelized onions on the bread.
- Top with the other half of ciabatta, cut in half diagonally, and serve warm with a side of fries or salad.
