- Soak 2 tablespoons of basil seeds in 1 cup of water for about 10–15 minutes until they swell.
- Juice 4 large lemons to get about 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Strain any seeds.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, 4 cups of water, ½ cup sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Fold in the soaked basil seeds, mixing well to evenly distribute them.
- Serve over ice cubes in glasses, optionally garnishing with lemon slices or mint leaves.
- Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for up to a couple of hours.
