  2. Rinse fresh mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells. Discard any that are broken or open.
  3. Place cleaned mussels in a pot with 3 tablespoons of water. Cover and steam on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes until opened.
  4. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs, grated cheese, parsley, garlic, and oregano. Add olive oil and stir until combined.
  5. Remove top shell from opened mussels and return mussel meat to half-shell. Place them in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Spoon breadcrumb mixture over each mussel, ensuring an even layer. Drizzle mussel cooking juice on top if desired.
  7. Bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes until topping is golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye to prevent burning.
