- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray or a light coat of oil.
- Press about ¼ cup of brown sugar into the bottom of the greased loaf pan. Spread an even layer of ketchup over the brown sugar.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, milk, breadcrumbs, eggs, parsley, salt, black pepper, and ginger.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on top of the glazed brown sugar and ketchup in the prepared pan.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) and no pink is visible.
- Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice into thick portions and serve warm with your choice of sides.
