- Start by laying out your good quality soft bread slices. Spread a thin layer of butter on half of the slices.
- On the remaining slices of bread, generously spread the cream cheese.
- Slice the medium cucumber into thin rounds, about ⅛ inch thick.
- Layer the thin cucumber slices on the buttered slices of bread, sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Sprinkle fresh dill or mint over the cucumber layers.
- Finish by placing the cream cheese-covered slices of bread on top and gently press down.
- Chill the assembled sandwiches in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
