- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and set aside to rest for a few minutes.
- Form the meat mixture into oval-shaped patties about ¾ inch thick and place them on a plate.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Sear patties for about 4 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
- Remove patties from the skillet. In the same skillet, whisk in flour into the drippings until it forms a roux. Gradually pour in beef broth while whisking until smooth.
- Return cooked patties to the skillet and let them simmer in gravy on low heat for about 5 minutes.
