  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a healthier option
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard or Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill or fresh dill
For the Filling
  • 1 medium Onion or shallots
  • 8 ounces Shaved Steak or ground beef/turkey
  • 4 large Eggs or egg whites for a lighter version
  • 1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning or garlic powder and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 4 slices American Cheese or cheddar/Swiss
For the Bread
  • 2 bagels Bagels whole grain or gluten-free

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, and dried dill. Stir well and refrigerate until ready.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions and salt, stir for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add another tablespoon of butter to the same skillet, pour in beaten eggs, and scramble for 3-4 minutes until just set.
  4. In a mixing bowl, toss the shaved steak with Worcestershire sauce and Montreal steak seasoning.
  5. Cook the seasoned steak in the skillet with the last tablespoon of butter for 3-5 minutes, then return the onions to the skillet and top each portion with cheese.
  6. Toast the bagels until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by spreading sauce on each bagel half, adding eggs, steak, cheese, and onions, then topping with the other half.
  8. Serve hot with fresh fruit or a salad on the side.
