Ingredients

For Caramelized Onions
  • 2 tablespoon Butter Olive oil is a great substitute for dairy-free option.
  • 2 medium Onions Shallots can be used for a milder taste.
For the Cajun Sauce
  • 1 cup Mayo Swap with Greek yogurt for a lighter alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Brightens the flavor profile.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Tony’s Lite Creole seasoning. Whisk until smooth and refrigerate.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, blend garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and Tony’s seasoning.
  3. In a large bowl, take ground chuck and mix with cubed pepper jack cheese and spice mixture. Form into patties and freeze for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add butter and onions, cooking until golden brown and caramelized, about 30-40 minutes.
  5. Preheat smoker to 250-275°F. Smoke patties for 30-40 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F, adding cheese in the last few minutes.
  6. Toast buns and assemble burgers with Cajun sauce, smoked patty, caramelized onions, and more sauce.
