Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chops for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  3. Add sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 3-4 minutes. Stir in flour for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk and broth until thickened, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, half of the sauce, and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Sprinkle paprika over the top, place pork chops on top, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 1 hour.
  6. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and pork is cooked.
  7. Allow to rest for 10 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Browning the pork chops enhances flavor. Letting the casserole rest helps the sauce set. Cover with foil when reheating leftovers to maintain texture.
