Step-by-Step Instructions for Southern Turkey Meatloaf
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, ground crackers or bread crumbs, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, egg, paprika, garlic powder, salt, dried thyme, and black pepper. Stir until just combined.
- Transfer the turkey mixture into the greased loaf pan, smoothing the top for an even bake.
- In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce and ketchup until well blended. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake the prepared meatloaf for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
