Ingredients

For the Pasta
  • 1 box Mac and Cheese Any brand of classic mac and cheese works perfectly!
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Adds richness and creaminess; a margarine alternative can lighten it up!
For the Color
  • 1 drops Green Food Coloring Adjust the amount for a less vibrant effect!
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Candy Eyeballs Substitute with gummy worms or other spooky candies if you're in a pinch.

Equipment

  • large pot
  • colander
  • Stirring spoon

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by filling a large pot with water and bringing it to a rolling boil over high heat. Add a generous pinch of salt to the water, then toss in the mac and cheese pasta. Cook for 12-13 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender yet al dente.
  2. Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander, letting the excess water escape. Return the drained pasta back to the pot, ensuring it’s still warm.
  3. Add the cheese sauce packet and the 4 tablespoons of butter to the warm pasta. Stir vigorously until the butter melts and the cheese sauce coats the pasta evenly.
  4. Gradually add drops of green food coloring into the cheesy pasta mixture, stirring well until the pasta reaches your desired spooky shade of green.
  5. Spoon the creamy, green mac and cheese into serving bowls and top with plastic spiders or candy eyeballs.
  6. Gather friends and family around to share this spook-tacular dish and enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness!
