Cake Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
- Combine cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and almond extract in a mixing bowl. Mix with an electric mixer for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Pour the batter into greased cake pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
- Level the tops of each cooled cake layer, spread whipped cream on the first layer, and add fresh strawberries. Repeat with the second layer.
- Decorate the top layer with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and optional chocolate drizzle before serving.
