- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice and zest, minced garlic, minced ginger, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the chicken into a resealable freezer bag. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, seal the bag, and massage it gently to coat each piece thoroughly.
- Refrigerate the marinated chicken for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours for chicken thighs and 8 hours for chicken breasts.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 425°F). Clean the grates and brush with oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 5-7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
